Earns Pole Position in Portland
IRL
August 25, 2024
The ascension of AJ Foyt Racing this season hit its highest point Saturday, as Ferrucci delivered the fabled team its first NTT IndyCar Series pole since 2014 by earning the NTT P1 Award for the BITNILE.COM Grand Prix of Portland.
ANALYSIS
Ferrucci made his first-ever appearance in the Fast 6 with a surprise performance at Portland Raceway. The young driver would not fail to deliver. Ferrucci posted a late flying lap and would knock Will Power from atop the scoring pylon. It was Ferrucci's first-career pole and A.J. Foyt Racing's first pole as a team since 2014. He'll be a podium threat Sunday on the winding Portland circuit.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
No 2022 plans have been announced at this point, but it would seem Ferrucci is poised to race another season of part-time action in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Sam Hunt Racing and in the IndyCar Series with RLL Racing.
IndyCar talent, Ferrucci, will take the wheel for a select schedule of as many as 20 events in 2021. He is a very talented driver, but this will be his first season of stock car racing. We expect some steep learning curves along the way. The 22-year-old former F1 test driver will be focused mainly on the intermediate ovals in this upcoming season. The plan is to get him up to speed on stock car racing for an eventual transition into full-time NASCAR competition. Ferrucci will be joined by Garrett in filling out the team's schedule. Garrett had a very light, part-time schedule split between the Xfinity Series and trucks last year. The 20-year-old Virginian is still learning the ropes and gaining development.
