Taylor Gray

TRICON Garage
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gray would make some nice progression in 2023. It would be his first full Craftsman Truck Series slate of action and he wouldn't disappoint. The youngster would grab three Top-5 and six Top-10 finishes on his way to a very solid 14.6 average finish. It all added up to a respectable 15th-place finish in the final driver standings. Gray's best tracks were intermediate ovals and short tracks for the most part, although he did have a couple nice drives on road circuits. Gray's potential is just being tapped as he's a tender 18-years-old to start the 2024 season. He'll be paired with veteran crew chief, Jeff Hensley, this season and the two will look to continue his development and improvement. Read Past Outlooks
Third at Richmond Raceway
Craftsman Truck Series
August 10, 2024
Gray finished third in the Clean Harbors 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway Saturday evening.
ANALYSIS
Gray started seventh on the grid and showed of his short track racing skills by competing in the Top 5 all evening at Richmond Raceway. He would lead just 5 laps, but Gray would keep close contact with the leaders throughout. A late restart would give Gray a slim shot at the win, but he'd do well to hold off Grant Enfinger for the strong third-place finish. It was his fifth Top 5 of the season.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Gray's two seasons of part-time racing in this division of NASCAR are now complete and now the soon-to-be 18-year-old driver is ready to take on a full slate of races for the first time. Gray's 13 starts over the last two seasons have netted a pair of Top-10 finishes with short tracks appearing to be his biggest strength. TRICON Garage, formerly David Gilliland Racing, will pair Gray with ace crew chief, Chad Johnston, and look to make a big splash in Gray's rookie season. The young driver has a lot of potential, so most of the burden will be on this race team to provide Gray with a fast truck week-in and week-out.
