As always, make sure you players are starting before finalizing your rosters by using our lineups page. There is always some kind of squad rotation, so it's imperative to pick guys who will play the most.
Goalkeeper:
Ben Foster, WBA v. AVL ($3,500): He's baaaaaaccckk, or at least I think he is. Foster was out for 10 months after surgery to repair his ACL, but after two FA Cup features (including a midweek clean sheet) it appears the true No. 1 is poised to regain his role over the suitable Boaz Myhill. West Brom has been decent this season, finding themselves in 13th and a relatively comfortable six points above of the relegation zone, but the return of Foster and a home matchup against the worst offense in the Premier League should provide an extra boost of confidence that the Baggies can take all three points.
Other goalkeepers to consider: Julian Speroni, CRY v. TOT ($2,900); Heurelho Gomes, WAT v. NEW ($3,700)
Defenders:
Nathan Ake, WAT v. NEW ($3,100): Despite a tough luck loss at Swansea on Monday, Ake was a bright spot in his first start after serving a three-game suspension, finishing with five crosses, five tackles and six interceptions on his way to 12 fantasy points. The 20-year-old Chelsea loanee has been extremely productive in his starts on the left flank and a favorable matchup against a Newcastle side that struggles away from home will only serve to bolster that productiveness.
Gael Clichy, MCI at WHU ($2,500): An injured Aleksandar Kolarov makes room for Clichy to return to his starting position as the Manchester City left back. In his last start he totaled 10 fantasy points in a matchup against Everton and this time gets to face the most crossed against team in the Premier League in West Ham. On top of a good matchup and bargain price, Clichy gets you exposure to the heaviest favorite on the slate.
Aly Cissokho, AVL at WBA ($3,000):
After totaling 12 crosses in outings against Leicester and Crystal Palace and averaging 12 fantasy points per game in that span, Cissokho will return to the left flank with free reign to move forward and continue serving in crosses to help spark the stagnant Villa offense. With the possibility of Micah Richards ($2,200) serving as right back for the first time this season in place of the slightly nicked up Leandro Bacuna, Cissokho could get even more offensive leniency being that Richards is typically a centerback.
Other defenders to consider: Matteo Darmian, MUN v. SOU ($3,700); Daryl Janmaat, NEW at WAT ($4,200); Danny Rose, TOT at CRY ($4,300); Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, MUN v. SOU ($2,400); Craig Dawson, WBA v. AVL ($3,700); Adam Smith, BOU at SUN ($3,400); Jonny Evans, WBA v. AVL ($2,700); Charlie Daniels, BOU at SUN ($3,500); Patrick van Aanholt, SUN v. BOU ($4,100)
Midfielders:
David Silva, MCI at WHU ($5,800): Silva had the breakthrough performance we'd been waiting for after missing the beginning of the season with injury, scoring 30 fantasy points last weekend against Crystal Palace. The Spaniard was masterful in his collection of stats as he had one goal, one assist, five shots, six crosses, two fouls drawn and one tackle. Not to say this is most important, but Silva took four corners to just one for Kevin De Bruyne, who had taken nine the previous week. This could be attributed to Silva being left footed and De Bruyne being right footed, however. Regardless, taking roughly half of Manchester City's corners gives Silva a nice floor that those of us who played before the scoring change did not get with him last season. Oh, he's also $2,700 less than De Bruyne.
Craig Gardner, WBA v. AVL ($3,500): Gardner delivered seven open-play crosses at Southampton last time out and now gets both an easier matchup at home against Aston Villa and a probable designation as corner taker with Chris Brunt being doubtful. Over his last three, Gardner has scored 10, 22 and 13 fantasy points against Stoke, Chelsea and Southampton, respectively. Whoever makes the starting XI out of Stephane Sessegnon and James McClean could steal some corners, but Gardner is in the position to be the primary taker regardless.
Ben Watson, WAT at NEW ($4,000): Simply stated, Watson will be on corners in a matchup where Watford should have most of the possession and earn a lot of corners. Watson sent in seven crosses last Monday against Swansea on his was to 13 fantasy points, leading to his fourth double-digit fantasy point output in the last six during a difficult run that included games against Southampton, Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool. Watford has taken a big hit in the table by losing four consecutive matches, but a home game against Newcastle figures to be a prime spot to right the ship.
Other midfielders to consider: James McClean, WBA v. AVL ($4,300); Ibrahim Afellay, STK at LEI ($3,000); Adam Johnson, SUN v. BOU ($3,400); Jason Puncheon, CRY v. TOT ($5,000); Christian Eriksen, TOT at CRY ($7,000); Wilfried Zaha, CRY v. TOT ($4,700); Dele Alli, TOT at CRY ($5,800); Ander Herrera, MUN v. SOU ($3,500); Kevin De Bruyne, MCI at WHU ($8,500)
Forwards:
Jeremain Lens, SUN v. BOU ($4,700): Lens seems to have regained some footing in the Black Cats camp, as he's started two consecutive matches. The attraction to Lens is very simply the floor he provides from a forward through his ability to collect peripheral stats, namely crosses and fouls drawn. Despite going scoreless in both his last two outings, he had prime opportunities in each start that just missed. He has two goals and two assists this season and despite opponent Bournemouth being favored and finding themselves in the relegation zone, Sunderland has actually been competent at home, sporting a plus-1 goal differential while Bournemouth carries a minus-9 on the road. This is one of the few times I disagree with the bookies as Sunderland really should be favored.
Salomon Rondon, WBA v. AVL ($4,000): Patience with Rondon may be waning as he hasn't scored in nine consecutive appearances. West Brom paid a pretty penny for Rondon after he scored 13 goals for Zenit last season, but the price for the 26-year-old seemed fair at the time seeing as he was in the prime of his career. Outside of the 2012/13 season when he missed most of the year to injury, Rondon has reached double-digit goals in each of the last five seasons across Russia and Spain. It is not too late for Rondon to reach that benchmark again, but with the midpoint of the season passed and just three goals to his name, he has to get going now. The matchup at home against Aston Villa may be the best opportunity he gets to jumpstart his season and live up to the hype the followed him to The Hawthorns.

NEW ($6,900); Juan Iturbe, BOU at SUN ($3,800); Wayne Rooney, MUN v. SOU ($7,100); Victor Anichebe, WBA v. AVL ($3,300); Anthony Martial, MUN v. SOU ($6,200)
