PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Gianluigi Buffon, ITA v. ISR ($6,000): Gigi should get the win and the clean sheet here. You're going to have to pay up, but at least it is a sound investment. If you need a few hundred bucks, then go with Wayne Hennessey ($5,900) or Heinz Lindner (5,800).
DEFENDER
Aleksandar Kolarov, SRB at IRL ($5,500): Kolarov is one of the defenders who put up a monster performance last week. At home against Moldova was obviously a much better matchup, but Kolarov could still carry his fine form into Ireland on Tuesday. He is what I like to call a "power back," or a fullback who takes set pieces and is heavily involved in the attack.
Sener Ozbayrakli, TUR v. CRO ($4,300): The price is modest and the production is certainly there. Ozbayrakli swings in a consistent set of crosses every match, and he does well to accumulate peripheral stats. There's not much to not like here in a home game for Ozbayrakli.
Bogdan Butko, UKR at ISL ($3,900): Sub-$4,000 fullbacks are hard to find these days, but here is one. The only thing going against Butko is his road matchup against a strong defensive side, but if you need to save up at defender, Butko makes for a nice punt.
MIDFIELDER
David Alaba, AUT v. GEO ($7,600): Alaba is the man in the middle for Austria, unlike at Bayern Munich, where he plays primarily as a leftback. For Austria he takes all set pieces and is the engine of the team in the middle of the park. He is a very effective box-to-box midfielder for Austria, and it is fun to see because he plays such a different position at his club.
Aaron Ramsey, WAL at MOL ($7,500): Like Alaba, Ramsey is the main man for Wales, besides Gareth Bale, of course. Ramsey racks up a solid number of crosses from set pieces, and his contributions in the run of play are phenomenal. A lot like Alaba, Ramsey is a box-to-box mid, and he often makes darting runs in the attacking third that put him in great chances to score. He should have plenty of opportunities to make one count against Moldova.
James McClean, IRL v. SRB ($6,100): McClean is a very active player whose style of play fits DraftKings. He is not the most clinical attacker, but he creates a ton of chances throughout a match, and he has a high floor due to his ability to rack up peripheral stats.
FORWARD
Gylfi Sigurdsson, ISL v. UKR ($10,500): Sigurdsson is in a really good spot here. He put up 14 fantasy points in his last game on the road, so expect his total to rise at home against Ukraine. Iceland is in third place in Group I and is one point behind Ukraine, so this is a very important game for the home team.
Gareth Bale, WAL at MOL ($10,200): In a must-win, Wales will be depending on their star to bring them to glory. Moldova is a team that Wales needs to beat, especially when Austria is one point ahead of them for second place and is playing Georgia. Even on the road, Bale is a wonderful play.
Yehven Konoplyanka, TUR v. CRO ($7,400): Konoplyanka is a dream player for DraftKings scoring. He racks up crosses and draws a ton of fouls while offering the upside up an all-out attacker.
