Yahoo DFS Soccer: Friday/Saturday UCL Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Soccer series.

Forwards

Robert Lewandowski, FCB at BAR (€30): For a two-game slate, the forward pool is loaded with star power. The pricing is tight enough to where it might be worth finding value at other positions in order to lock in the game-changers. Lewandowski is a goal machine and simply can't stop scoring. He's already scored 13 goals through seven games during this Champions League run and he's found the net in 12 of his last 13 games. Those kinds of numbers make it seem like he's a lock to score, and with -170 anytime goal scoring odds, the oddsmakers seem to think so too.

Lionel Messi, BAR v. FCB (€30): Messi continues to pile up the goals with four over his last three outings. He's scored over 12 fantasy points in 13 straight games regardless if he impacts the score-sheet or not, and he's not quite as goal dependent as his counterpart above. He's on a mission after Barcelona came up short in La Liga, and Messi on a mission typically translates into fantasy points.

Gabriel Jesus, MCI v. LYN (€27): Jesus has shouldered the scoring load admirably with Sergio Aguero on the shelf. The Brazilian forward has five goals and three assists in his last six appearances, and with Manchester City being the biggest favorite on the short slate, there's a good chance he continues to make his presence felt around goal.

Midfielders

Kevin De Bruyne, MCI v. LYN (€29): De Bruyne is the highest-priced midfielder on the slate for good reason. He equaled the Premier League assist record for a single season with 20, and even without goals or assists, the Belgian typically does enough across the board to register double-digit fantasy points. With Manchester City pegged to advance to the semi-final, look for De Bruyne to continue to pull the strings.

Phil Foden, MCI v. LYN (€19): Foden supplies additional exposure to the Manchester City attack and he comes at a manageable salary. He's shown some flashes of what he's capable of over his last few outings and in a game that City are expected to win, it would be no surprise to see Foden involved on the score-sheet.

Maxence Caqueret, LYN at MCI (€11): Caqueret is here mostly as a reminder to keep an eye out for any bargain bin values that might emerge once starting lineups drop. He's the cheapest projected starter on the slate, and while you shouldn't expect much return, you're going to have to punt a couple spots in order to squeeze in the heavy artillery.

Defenders

Alphonso Davies, FCB at BAR (€20): Davies missed training earlier in the week due to adductor issues but should be recovered in time for Friday's UCL quarter-final. His salary is a big pill to swallow but one that could work magic given his abilities. Davies will have his hands full on the defensive side of the ball, yet the speedster should cause problems getting forward on the left flank all game.

Kyle Walker, MCI v. LYN (€17): Walker came through with a solid performance last time out to oust Real Madrid from the Champions League. He was getting involved on both ends of the field, registering two shots along the way. Prior to that, he logged an assist in back-to-back games to finish the league campaign, and with Manchester City favored to advance, I expect another strong outing from the right-back.

Joao Cancelo, MCI v. LYN (€16): Despite having no goals or assists to his name, Cancelo has been fairly active going forward. He's taken a shot in five consecutive appearances and is averaging over nine fantasy points per game across his last three. Combine that attacking appeal with Manchester City owning the best clean-sheet odds on the board and Cancelo is in a good spot to deliver.

Goalkeeper

Anthony Lopes, LYN at MCI (€14): Lopes faces a stiff test against a dynamic Manchester City attack, but we've seen it before where the heavy underdog GK stands on his head to keep his team alive. No one expected the French side to make it this far, so with nothing to lose, I'll take a chance with Lopes to stop some shots and turn in a serviceable return as the cheapest GK on the slate.
