Yahoo DFS Soccer: Wednesday UCL Picks

MATCHES (EST)

FORWARDS

Robert Lewandowski, FCB vs RBS (€30): Lewandowski erupted for a brace and 25 points against Red Bull Salzburg less than three weeks ago, and he's well-positioned to repeat that performance in a favorable rematch at home. He's already turned in a pair of performances with 35 points or more in his home confines, and if you're caught without him in one of those performances you can pretty much go ahead and shut the laptop.

Dusan Tadic, AJA vs FCM (€24): Tadic has scored in six consecutive games for Ajax, including a goal and an assist the last time he faced FC Midtjylland. He stands over a majority of set pieces and is the preferred penalty kick taker. The Serbian international will be tough to fade in that kind of form and in a good matchup at home.

Angel Correa, ATM vs LMO (€12): Correa is in the midst of a fine run of form with an assist in four of his last five appearances. He wasn't able to impact the score-sheet in the first meeting with Lokomotiv Moscow, but at near minimum price and on the biggest favorite on the slate, he's worthy of a punt to help pay up for the heavy artillery.

MIDFIELDERS

Diogo Jota, LIV vs. ATA (€24): Jota has been a man on fire with at least one goal in five of his last six outings. He hung a hat trick on Atalanta in their last meeting and should continue to see opportunities against a suspect defensive unit. He's scored in every home game he's appeared in for the Reds.

Riyad Mahrez, MCI at OLY (€21): With Kevin De Bruyne set to be rested, Mahrez is in play as the likely primary set piece taker if he starts. Ilkay Gundogan (€18) is next in line and comes at a slight discount off Mahrez. Gundogan becomes interesting in the event that Mahrez is rested too, so be sure to monitor the starting lineup to see how the situation unfolds.

James Milner, LIV vs ATA (€15): It's ugly, but Milner showed that he can be productive at right-back in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold. He sent in nine crosses, created five chances, and assisted in a 3-0 win over Leicester on Sunday, swinging in seven corners. Those are borderline TAA numbers from last year, and if we can get that at a discount we could see big returns if Liverpool put five goals past Atalanta again.

DEFENDERS

Andrew Robertson, LIV vs ATA (€17): Robertson shared set pieces with Milner, and while the return of Mohamed Salah (€31) could muddle that situation some, there's a path for all three players to turn in big scores. Robertson also came away with an assist in the win over Leicester City, and he's proven his worth as a defender capable of picking up points at both ends of the field.

Kieran Trippier, ATM vs LOKO (€16): Trippier has seen a drop-off in crossing volume this season, but he did pump in 10 crosses against Wednesday's opponent. Despite coming up empty-handed on the score-sheet, he still finished with eight points against Lokomotiv Moscow, and it would be no surprise to see him top that given Atletico Madrid's strong clean sheet odds.

Sean Klaiber, AJA vs FCM (€10): Klaiber is projected to start at right-back for Ajax, and if he does he would give us a minimum priced defender from the third-biggest home favorite on the slate. He has a goal and an assist in the three games he's started, so he could supply some sneaky attacking value too.

GOALKEEPER

Jan Oblak, ATM vs. LMO (€12): Oblak has kept a clean sheet in consecutive La Liga appearances, and he'll look to carry that form over to Wednesday's UCL clash with Lokomotiv Moscow. He let one in the last time they met a few weeks ago, but that may have actually helped our cause for this slate since his dirt cheap salary reflects his minus-1.2 fantasy points per game average through the first three games.
