Yahoo DFS Soccer: Wednesday/Thursday UCL Picks

Neymar, PSG at ATA (€30): Neymar has been in fine form since returning to play, scoring the winner in the Coupe de France final along with goals in multiple friendlies ahead of the Champions League quarter-final. This is the stage that Neymar thrives on and fading him on a two-game slate would be a bold, and possibly fatal, move.

Mauro Icardi, PSG at ATA (€26): With Kylian Mbappe (€26) likely to come off the bench after suffering an ankle injury in the Coupe de France final, and playmaker Angel Di Maria suspended, Icardi could be asked to shoulder even more of the attacking load in Wednesday's UCL quarter-final. Icardi has been dealing with a niggling thigh injury but has been back in training and should have the green light ahead of the clash with Atalanta. The Argentine has a goal in four of his six starts in this Champions League campaign.

Diego Costa, ATM at RBL (€13): Costa has the highest scoring odds of the projected Atletico Madrid starters, which bodes well considering they are the favorite. He's scored one goal in limited minutes over the last three La Liga games, firing off nine shots with two on frame in that span. At just €13, he's well worth a look to help free up funds elsewhere.

Midfielders

Alejandro Gomez, ATA v. PSG (€23): If Atalanta are going to give PSG a run for their money, there's a good chance Gomez will be involved. He has a combined 18 assists and 115 chances created over 42 starts in both Serie A and UCL, and given his role on set pieces, he is well-positioned to continue to contribute with Atalanta looking to pull off the upset.

Pablo Sarabia, PSG at ATA (€21): With PSG shorthanded in the attack, look for Sarabia to step up and make things happen for the French side. He has two goals and two assists over his last four starts, and given Atalanta's attacking style of play, he could find himself kickstarting multiple counter attacks Wednesday.

Christopher Nkunku, RBL v. ATM (€12): Nkunku stands over a share of set pieces, and while he has yet to score or assist this UCL campaign, he registered 13 assists with five goals during the Bundesliga season. He is available at a near minimum and makes for a strong value play considering his attacking role.

Defenders

Kieran Trippier, ATM at RBL (€17): His role on set pieces isn't what it once was, but Trippier is still fully capable of getting involved down the right flank. It would be no surprise to see him still taking set pieces on occasion, and combined with Atletico having the best clean-sheet odds on the slate, he packs enough upside on both sides of the ball to consider in all formats.

Angelino, RBL v. ATM (€16): Angelino typically splits set pieces with Nkunku, boosting his fantasy appeal as a defender with set-piece upside. He delivered an assist against Tottenham in his last UCL appearance, highlighting his involvement in the attack from the left flank.

Thilo Kehrer, PSG at ATA (€14): Kehrer appears to be healthy and set to feature at right-back for PSG on Wednesday. He's seen limited minutes this season, but when he's on the field he supplies a cluster of defensive stats along with occasional involvement on the attacking end. For just €14, he provides good value at defender.

Goalkeeper

Marco Sportiello, ATA v. PSG (€15): Sportiello is the cheapest option on the slate with Atalanta being the biggest underdog. He faces a daunting task in keeping Neymar off the scoresheet, but that could prove fruitful if he's able to fend off multiple shots and register a pile of save points. I'll take my chances and pocket the savings at the GK slot.
