FanDuel MLB: Friday Values

FanDuel MLB: Friday Values

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Patrick Corbin, AZ vs SD ($9,500)Max Scherzer is on this slate as well, but Corbin provides more value as his price is much lower and Scherzer hasn't gone past seven innings since the beginning of July. Don't get me wrong, Scherzer is more than capable of racking up the points during the first seven innings, but when you spend $11k+ on a guy, you want the upside of eight or more innings. Corbin has been reliable since the beginning of August and he has the best matchup on the board against the lowly Padres.

Catcher

Gary Sanchez, NYY at TEX ($3,600) – The stars are aligned for Sanchez as he returns from a three game suspension tonight. Sanchez not only faces a pitcher that's struggled with righties all season, but he'll be playing in a hitter's park. Martin Perez takes the mound for the Rangers and he enters with a 4.87 ERA. Sanchez has been slightly better against righties this year, but he still has an impressive .358 wOBA against lefties

First Base

Joe Mauer, MN at KC ($3,400)Ian Kennedy enters with a 5.68 ERA and has made just one quality start since the end of July. Mauer can be maddening at times because he needs multiple hits to rack up points, but that's certainly a possibility against Kennedy.

Second Base

Jose Altuve, HOU at OAK ($3,900)Jharel Cotton was a great pitcher to stack against a couple weeks ago and should be again versus Houston. Altuve is a strong pick because he enters with a .413 wOBA against righties this season, which is top-10 in the majors.

Shortstop

Francisco Lindor, CLE vs BAL ($4,100) – With Wade Miley on the mound, you may want to have more than just one Indian in your lineup. Lindor enters with a .377 wOBA against lefties this season.

Third Base

Jake Lamb, AZ vs SD ($3,000)Jordan Lyles enters with a 6.71 ERA and he's walking into what might be the second best hitter's park in the majors. Lamb has been struggling since a hot start, but the upside is always there and he carries a .391 wOBA against righties this season, which is top-20 in the majors.

Outfield

J.D. Martinez, AS vs SD ($4,000) – Martinez has been a monster against lefties this season, but he's been pretty darn good against righties as well, entering with a .367 wOBA against righties.

Ezequiel Carrera, TOR vs DET ($2,200) – Carrera's placement on this list serves two purposes. First, at just over the minimum, he's a great value pick as he enters with a .365 wOBA against righties. Second, with Buck Farmer on the hill for the Tigers, the Blue Jays are in play for a stack, but with limited space, I wasn't able to list guys like Justin Smoak and Josh Donaldson. Farmer enters with a 7.18 ERA through six appearances this season.

Avisail Garcia, CHW vs SF ($3,900) – Garcia was a staple in this article early in the season, but he's since fallen off the map. With that said, he still has strong numbers against lefties this season as he enters with a .436 wOBA, which is top-20 in the majors. The opposing lefty is Matt Moore, who has struggled with righties all season and enters with a 5.42 ERA.
