PITCHER
Robbie Ray, AZ at SD ($25,200): Okay, the Padres have had their fun over the past two days, ruining the starts of both Patrick Corbin and Zack Godley, but this is Ray and the Padres aren't about to push him around. Ray catapulted himself into the elite category this season and he's showing no signs of slowing down. He has 55 strikeouts in his past five starts while allowing just five runs, and while the Padres have shown some pluck over the past two nights, that comes to an end Wednesday.
Luke Weaver, STL at CIN ($18,000): Weaver has been one of the pleasant surprises this season and the nice thing is, he's not showing any signs of slowing down. He has a 1.89 ERA after not allowing a single run in his past two starts, and he had 42 strikeouts while allowing just four runs in his past five. The matchup against the Reds isn't great, but they have a way of disappearing from time to time.
INFIELD
Dustin Pedroia, BOS vs. BAL ($8,000): Pedroia fouled a ball off his face Monday, but if he's anywhere near ready to go Wednesday, he'll have a great matchup against Wade Miley, who enters with a 5.32 ERA after failing to get out of the first inning in his last start. With not many reliably bad starters on the mound, the Red Sox are one of the better stack options, including Pedroia thanks to his team-high .397 wOBA against lefites.
Deven Marrero, BOS vs. BAL ($6,000): Since his recall at the beginning of September, Marrero has only received a couple starts, but hopefully he gets the nod Wednesday because the matchup against Miley is in his favor. Marrero's place on this list is not only for him, it's for any lower-priced guy in the Red Sox lineup. As for Marrero, he's listed because he has a .396 wOBA against lefties this year.
Jose Altuve, HOU vs. CHW ($9,600): If there's anything certain on this slate, it's that James Shields is going to give up at least three runs. Sure, just two starts back he gave up fewer than three runs, but that was against the Giants, and the Astros certainly provide a stiffer challenge. The Astros aren't necessarily a great stack because Shields rarely gets blown up, but there's no reason to ignore Altuve's .411 wOBA this season.
OUTFIELD
Tommy Pham, STL at CIN ($10,000):Rookie Davis had a tough time earlier this season when he was called upon by the Reds to start a handful of games, and if his most recent start is any indication, his second go-around isn't much better. Davis enters with a 7.71 ERA after allowing two runs over two innings in his last appearance. Pham, who has a team-high .395 wOAB against righties this season, could certainly be a piece of a Cardinals stack.
Dexter Fowler, STL at CIN ($8,700): Fowler had a monster game Tuesday night against right-handed pitching and he gets another righty in Davis. His performance Tuesday isn't much of a surprise as he's mashed on righties all season, posting a .371 wOBA against them.
Jose Ramirez, CLE at LAA ($9,900): Ramirez has been one of the most consistent bats in the majors this season, and though he's been good from both sides of the plate, he's been lethal from the left side. He'll bat there Wednesday as the Indians face Ricky Nolasco, who has a 5.11 ERA, which Ramirez will counter with a .397 wOBA against righties.
UTILITY
Anthony Rendon, WAS at ATL ($10,000):Lucas Sims enters with a 5.52 ERA, and he's in the precarious spot of returning to the rotation after a short stint in the bullpen. The Nats are certainly a stacking option, but if you don't want to go that far, just find a spot for Rendon because of his .380 wOBA against righties, which is the second-highest mark on the team.
Cody Bellinger, LAD at PHI ($10,000):Jake Thompson has shown some flashes of competence over his past few starts, but he's also been blown up a couple times. The Dodgers are no longer in a team-wide slump, but they've yet to break out offensively and until they get rolling as a team, I'm not going to stack them. Thankfully, we can turn to Bellinger, who enters with a .391 wOBA against righties this season, which is tops on the Dodgers and top-20 in the majors.
