Bo Nix

Bo Nix

24-Year-Old QuarterbackQB
Denver Broncos
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The 12th pick in this year’s draft, Nix seemingly has little competition for the starting job in Denver with only career backup Jarrett Stidham and first-round bust Zach Wilson standing in his way. Nix’s best attribute is avoiding negative plays, as he threw 26 INTs in five years as a collegiate starter and took 10 sacks in two years at Oregon. Nix is a skilled passer, though he doesn’t have the arm talent of the other first-round quarterbacks from the 2024 Draft. Oregon’s offense didn’t ask him to do much downfield, instead relying on a heavy diet of screen passes and quick throws, which explains how he set the NCAA single-season record for completion percentage (77.4) last season. Indeed, his 6.8-yard average target depth was the lowest in this year’s draft. At 6-2, 214, Nix is reasonably athletic and can throw on the run but lacks an elite trait. Nix's quick release and processing ability could make him a good fit for Sean's Payton offense -- a la Drew Brees in his later years -- and if anyone is NFL ready it should be Nix, whose 61 starts were an NCAA record for a QB. The Broncos drafted Oregon teammate Troy Franklin in the fourth round to join Courtland Sutton in an otherwise lackluster wideout corps, and Nix should add some rushing stats after posting 1,613 yards and 38 TDs in college. Throws four TDs in career-best game
QBDenver Broncos
November 17, 2024
Nix completed 28 of 33 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 38-6 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Nix set new single-game career highs in passing yards and touchdown passes as well as in completion percentage (85 percent) and passer rating (145). He threw a touchdown pass in each quarter, with a 12-yarder to Nate Adkins in the first, a 12-yarder to Marvin Mims in the second, a seven-yarder to Troy Franklin in the third and a 41-yarder to Lil'Jordan Humphrey in the fourth. Nix's four touchdown passes brought his season total up to 14, which tied the Broncos franchise rookie record set by Marlin Briscoe in 1968. The rookie first-round pick will look to take sole possession of that record during the Broncos' Week 12 trip to Vegas.

Pushing way into ROY conversation
QBDenver Broncos
November 19, 2024
Nix is emerging as a challenger to Jayden Daniels for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, Jeff Legwold of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
As Caleb Williams has faded, Jayden Daniels looked to be a lock to win Rookie of the Year. However, Nix has led the Broncos to a 6-5 record while throwing for multiple touchdowns in five of his last seven contests, with only two interceptions during that span. Nix likely still has plenty of work to do to catch Daniels, but he has put himself in the conversation with his impressive play.
