Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Titans have struggled to get consistent cornerback play across the last few seasons, but they invested heavily at the position this offseason. Awuzie was one such signing, as he landed a three-year, $36 million deal from the team. One immediate challenge will be his ability to stay on the field, as he's failed to play a full slate of games since the 2019 season. His play also took a downturn in 2023, though his track record suggests that he has a strong chance to bounce back in 2024. At the very least, he should be on the field plenty with the chance to rack up tackles, pass breakups and interceptions. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Active Sunday
Awuzie (calf) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The cornerback should be in line to start opposite L'Jarius Sneed. Awuzie popped up on the injury report Friday. The eighth-year pro signed a three-year, $36-million contract with the Titans in the offseason after spending the previous three seasons with the Bengals.

When Awuzie went down with a torn ACL in Week 8 during a blowout loss on Halloween night against the Browns, it seemed like a devastating blow to a Bengals team in the process of falling to 4-4 and the toughest part of their schedule remaining. Instead, rookie Cam Taylor-Britt took over and was an improvement over Awuzie, who was struggling after a breakout campaign in 2021, and the Bengals won their next 10 games. Eli Apple is gone, so the Bengals are counting on Awuzie to step back in and start while they get rookie DJ Turner up to speed.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Unlikely to return to Cincinnati
Awuzie is expected to sign elsewhere in free agency this offseason, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran cornerback has had a tough first year back from an ACL tear, but Awuzie showed flashes of his pre-injury speed and form in the second half of the season. However, the Bengals have invested significant draft capital in Cam Taylor-Britt and DJ Turner, who were second-round picks in 2022 and 2023, and aren't expected to pay market value for a third corner in Awuzie. Given the 28-year-old's track record, he could still draw significant interest as a free agent.
