A knee injury suffered by Trevon Diggs in Week 2 last season opened the door for another member of the Cowboys secondary to step up, and Bland seized the opportunity. The 2022 fifth-round pick set a new NFL record by returning five interceptions for touchdowns in a season that saw him pick off nine passes in total and produce 15 passes defended along with 69 tackles. Bland was limited during the Cowboys' two walkthroughs earlier this week, but he was able to participate in Wednesday's practice without restriction and is good to play Thursday. After missing the Cowboys' first 10 games of the regular season due to a foot injury he suffered in training camp, Bland returned for Week 12 against the Commanders this past Sunday and finished with six tackles (three solo) while playing 55 snaps on defense.

A fifth-round pick out of Fresno State in 2022, Bland got his first action on defense Week 4 against the Commanders and promptly picked off a Carson Wentz pass. Bland became a full-time starter by Week 11 and kept up the ball hawking, nabbing four interceptions in a four-game stretch in the second half. The 24-year-old likely will handle slot duties this season following the offseason addition of Stephon Gilmore, giving the Dallas defense three strong options at cornerback along with Trevon Diggs.
