2024 Fantasy Outlook
Lock signed with the Giants in March as the backup to Daniel Jones, who might not be ready for the start of the season after a November ACL injury and hasn’t exactly cemented himself as the Giants’ long-term answer anyway. The door seemingly is cracked for Lock to take the starting job, at least early in the season. That wasn’t the case the last two years in Seattle, where Lock was firmly behind Geno Smith, which partially explains why he bolted for New York. At 6-4, 228, Lock has prototypical size and arm strength, and he was credible in two starts for an injured Smith last season, completing 68.8 percent of his attempts at a 7.5-yard average depth. He won’t have as much help in New York, with Malik Nabers, the sixth overall pick in this year’s draft, leading an otherwise mediocre group of skill-position players that had Saquon Barkley replaced by Devin Singletary this offseason. No starter named for Week 14 yet
Giants coach Brian Daboll said Friday that he doesn't know if Lock or Tommy DeVito (forearm) will start at quarterback in Week 14 against the Saints, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Lock filled in as the starter for an injured DeVito on Thursday, committing two turnovers while throwing for 178 yards on 32 attempts in a 27-20 loss at Dallas. Lock ended up with a decent fantasy score thanks to four rush attempts for 57 yards and a TD, but his pick-six and lost fumble made it challenging for the Giants to win. DeVito may thus step back in as the starter once he's deemed healthy enough to play.

Lock lost an open quarterback competition to Geno Smith before last season, and Smith played his way into a three-year, $105 million contract. Nevertheless, Lock accepted a one-year, $4 million deal to be the backup in Seattle in 2023. He's only 26 years old and is a fine backup with a career 6.7 yards per attempt and 25:20 TD:INT, but he'll be hard-pressed to find a starting job unless he can prove himself further. If he manages to get playing time in Seattle, however, he's set up well for success with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba at wide receiver.

Not a lock for Thanksgiving start
It remains to be seen whether Lock or Tommy DeVito will start Thursday's game against Dallas, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
DeVito seems to have made some progress in his recovery from a forearm injury, so it now looks like a true toss-up as to whether DeVito will be available Thursday. The decision will be revealed when the Giants announce their inactives, as Lock would get the start if DeVito's declared inactive.
