Foster Moreau

27-Year-Old Tight EndTE
New Orleans Saints
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Moreau caught 21 of 25 targets for 193 yards and one score over 15 games in 2023, marking his fourth time in five seasons that he caught at least 21 passes. The 27-year-old played nearly as many offensive snaps as Juwan Johnson, as the latter missed four contests with injury. Yet the majority of scoring opportunities went to Johnson and Jimmy Graham, who combined for eight touchdowns. Graham re-retired following last season, which once again leaves Moreau as the clear No. 2 option for in-line tight ends behind Johnson, though gadget player Taysom Hill should steal some targets at the position. Sees solid target share Week 11
TENew Orleans Saints
November 17, 2024
Moreau notched three receptions (on four targets) for 50 yards during Sunday's 35-14 victory against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Moreau briefly exited with a shoulder injury in the first half before returning in the second quarter. The tight end logged three catches in the second half as the Saints scored over 30 points for the first time since Week 1. He did not see any targets in the red zone though, as fellow tight end Juwan Johnson scored the team's shortest touchdown with a one-yard reception to go up 28-14 in the fourth quarter. Moreau's average target share still isn't enough to justify fantasy relevance in most formats unless he plays an outsized role as a red-zone threat. With the Saints on bye Week 12, Moreau's next chance to get back into the end zone will come versus the Rams on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Moreau looked like one of the best available tight ends entering free agency, as he logged 63 catches for 793 yards and five touchdowns across the past two seasons in Las Vegas. His football career was then put on hold in March when the 26-year-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. However, he reportedly received a positive health prognosis later on and was able to run routes and catch passes at the start of OTAs after signing a three-year, $12.2 million contract with the Saints in May. Following the team's trade of backup TE Adam Trautman, Moreau should help fill the void behind No. 1 option Juwan Johnson.sa
Moreau caught 30 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns on 44 targets in 17 games last sea-son, but he actually out-snapped fellow tight end Darren Waller as the latter missed six contests due to various knee, ankle and back injuries. Moreau could be in line for another impactful role if Waller's injury concerns remain as he turns 30 years old in September, though receivers Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow also figure to draw plenty of quarterback Derek Carr's attention in the Raiders' aerial attack.
The Raiders sacrificed Moreau's development for yet another Jason Witten goodbye tour in his return from retirement last season, but the former now has a clear path to reclaim the No. 2 role at tight end behind Darren Waller. Moreau is still only 24 years old, but saw his offensive snaps reduced from 378 as a rookie to 255 in Year 2 despite suiting up for three more games. Through two seasons in the league, the 2019 fourth-rounder is averaging just shy of one reception per contest, though he's found the end zone seven times in 29 tilts.
Despite losing a heap of volume to breakout tight end Darren Waller, Moreau managed to lead the Raiders in red zone touchdown receptions with five during his rookie campaign before a knee injury forced the latter to miss Weeks 15-17. The 2019 fourth-rounder appears to be ahead of schedule in his recovery as he hopes to be back at full strength for training camp, but the arrival of veteran Jason Witten doesn't bode well for Moreau's upside in the short run.
Acting less desperately than some expected to fill their glaring needs at tight end following Jared Cook's exit to New Orleans, Oakland waited until the fourth round of the draft to select Foster Moreau 137th overall. The LSU product hauled in a pedestrian 46 passes for 550 yards and five touchdowns over his final two collegiate seasons, but Moreau flashed his athleticism at the combine by running the 40-yard dash in 4.66 seconds to accompany a 4.11 shuttle time and 36.5 vertical at 6-4. The Raiders signed 29-year-old veteran Luke Willson as somewhat of a safety net at tight end, but Moreau and Darren Waller could have numerous opportunities to capitalize on their potential given the thinness of the squad's TE corps.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Larger role in passing game?
TENew Orleans Saints
September 28, 2024
Moreau could see more looks from quarterback Derek Carr during Sunday's game against the Falcons if one or both of Chris Olave or Cedrick Wilson were unable to play due to injury, John Sigler of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Olave and Wilson are listed as questionable for Sunday's game due to hamstring and ankle injuries, respectively, but Sigler relays that Wilson is less likely to suit up. Moreau has established himself as the Saints' top tight end ahead of Juwan Johnson, and even with Taysom Hill returning from a one-game absence, Moreau's 6-foot-4 frame should give the Falcons' defense some issues, especially in the red zone. Moreau's best outing of the season came in Week 1 against the Panthers, when he caught all four of his passes for 43 yards and one touchdown.
