2024 Fantasy Outlook
If there was a defensive player that embodied "the stats don't the full story," it would be Brooks. He has two seasons of more than 160 tackles on his ledger and has over 100 stops in each of his last three campaigns. The problem is that he doesn't stand out as above average contributor in any area of the game, which doesn't make a compelling case for him to remain on the field. What makes him even more vulnerable is that he departed from Seattle this offseason, the team that spent a first-round pick on him in 2020 and thus had significant incentive to keep him on the field in the hopes that he would develop. Now with the Dolphins, the track record says that Brooks is an elite IDP option in leagues that reward tackling. A little bit of a longer glimpse suggests caution is prudent. Read Past Outlooks
Nine tackles vs. Cleveland
Brooks tallied nine tackles (eight solo) during Sunday's 20-3 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Brooks finished Sunday's game as the Dolphins' second-leading tackler behind Tyrel Dodson (15). Brooks has logged at least seven combined tackles in 14 of 16 games this season, and on the year he's up to 137 tackles (83 solo), including 3.0 sacks, five pass defenses and two fumble recoveries. He'll look to add to his total in a must-win game against the Jets next Sunday.

The Colts attempted just four passes after the second drive of Sunday's game, allowing Jonathan Taylor to lead them (and fantasy teams) to victory. RW's Jerry Donabedian has the full scoop from Week 16...
The Seahawks put an end to the Pete Carroll era this offseason, opting to hire a first-time head coach in Mike Macdonald. The roster has its faults, but a skill group led by QB Geno Smith isn't one of them.
The first two years under Mike McDaniel in Miami have been defined by a need for a speed paced by WR Tyreek Hill. With a lucrative long-term contract in place, QB Tua Tagovailoa will continue to lead the way.

A 2020 first-round pick, Brooks led the league with 184 tackles in his second NFL season, and he was vying for the same title in 2022 before tearing his ACL in Week 17. Head coach Pete Carroll has been optimistic that Brooks will be ready for Week 1, but it's difficult to truly know until we see him on the practice field. Once he's given the green light, Brooks will be expected to lead the Seahawks in tackles once again. The addition of Bobby Wagner doesn't affect Brooks' IDP value. After all, Wagner was on the roster when Brooks claimed the tackling title.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Still in Seattle's plans
Head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Brooks is still a part of Seattle's plans despite the team opting not to pick up the linebacker's fifth-year option for 2024, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. "The decision we made now, this is not an indication of our future," Carroll said of the team's decision to decline Brooks' option. "We expect Jordyn to be with us for a long time."
ANALYSIS
It's possible that Carroll's comments are just coach-speak since Brooks will be on the team either way in 2023, but the Seahawks could still opt to extend Brooks, though likely at a lower cap number than the $12.7 million option they declined. The star linebacker underwent knee surgery in January.
