2024 Fantasy Outlook
Parsons set a new career high with 14.0 sacks last year, but he's been arguably the most consistent pass rusher in the NFL since being drafted 12th overall in 2021, producing 13.0 sacks as a rookie and 13.5 in 2022. Former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn lined him up all over the field looking for mismatches, but it's not yet clear how new DC Mike Zimmer plans to deploy Parsons, or whether the scheme change will have an impact on his numbers. The 25-year-old edge rusher's elite athleticism should allow him to thrive no matter how he's used, however. Read Past Outlooks
Likely to play Sunday
Parsons (illness), who is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bucs, is likely to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Parsons missed practice Friday with the illness but sounds like he could play Sunday. Still, watch to make sure he's not inactive before the 8:20 pm ET Sunday night kickoff.

2022
2021
Since being selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Parsons has emerged as one of the most dynamic defensive players in the league, racking up 26.5 sacks in his first 33 games for Dallas without even being a full-time pass rusher. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn sees the value in keeping offenses guessing by lining Parsons up all over the formation and using him in different roles, and while that makes the 24-year-old's ultimate statistical output tough to predict, his main job for the Cowboys will still be to terrorize quarterbacks.

Parsons is likely to get a contract extension from the Cowboys, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Dallas intends to conduct an offseason review of how the team handles the salary cap when it come to mega deals for star players, Parsons likely won't be seen as the kind of player the Cowboys can afford to lose. "Obviously we're totally all in on Dak [Prescott] and CeeDee [Lamb]," executive VP Stephen Jones told NFL.com last week, "but after that, then you still shape things, including Micah. But Micah's a great player. You don't do well in this league letting guys like Micah, usually, leave the house." Parsons is headed into the fifth-year option on his rookie contract in 2025 that will pay him more than $24 million, but Jones shot down the idea that the Cowboys might consider trading him instead of paying him. "We love Micah," Jones said. "I can't imagine there's a scenario where he's not wearing a star on his helmet."
