2024 Fantasy Outlook
Garrett added to his personal accolades in 2023, as he earned his first AP Defensive Player of the Year award. From an output perspective, Garrett's production fell in terms of both total tackles and sacks. In part, that was due to him being held out of Cleveland's final game of the regular season, but the more likely explanation was due to a shoulder injury that had noticeable impacts on his performance Weeks 12 and 13. In addition to having time recover from the shoulder issue, Garrett's underlying skills suggest there was no decline in skill or ability to disrupt opposing offenses. Most notably, Garrett total career highs in both quarterback pressures (86) and hurries (57), while matching his career-best in fumbles forced (4). If he can get through a healthy season, expect his statistical production to bounce back to his 2021 and 2022 levels. Read Past Outlooks
Good to go against Baltimore
Garrett (thigh) does not carry an injury designation into Saturday's game against the Ravens, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Garrett was a DNP in the first two sessions of the week due to a thigh issue, but his limited participation in Thursday's practice was enough for him to shed an injury tag heading into Saturday's regular-season finale. The All-Pro defensive end is coming off a two-sack performance against the Dolphins this past Sunday, which brought him up to 14.0 sacks on the season.

Garrett put together another incredible season as the top dawg in the Browns' pass rush last season, becoming the first player since J.J. Watt in 2014-15 to record consecutive 16-sack seasons. Garrett finished eighth in the league with 38 QB pressures, just ahead of Za'Darius Smith's 37, so it's fitting that the veteran will now bookend him in Cleveland. Smith should provide a big upgrade on Jadeveon Clowney if he can stay healthy, and any attention he can draw will only make Garrett that much more dangerous. The 2017 first overall pick has five consecutive seasons with double-digit sacks, and a sixth seems well within reach.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be looking for exit
Garrett may try to force a trade from the Browns if he doesn't believe the team will return to competitiveness quickly, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
The star pass rusher made it clear last week he's not interested in being part of another rebuild, which the franchise is barreling toward at the end of what is currently a three-win season. "I want to win. I want the Browns to be able to put me and us in position to win. I'm not trying to rebuild," Garrett said Friday. "I'm trying to win right now. I want that to be apparent, when the season's over and we have those discussions, I want them to be able to illuminate that for me, illustrate that for me, so that can be something that I can see in the near future." Garrett's current contract runs through 2025, but trading him would accelerate the cap charge from multiple void years on the deal, which could complicate the process. Still, a trade would likely be preferable to having Garrett leave for nothing in free agency if he's not happy with the direction the Browns are headed in. The 28-year-old recorded his 100th career sack, all of them coming with Cleveland, in Sunday's loss to Cincinnati.
