2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gray posted nearly identical stats in 2022 and 2023, going from 28 catches for 299 receiving yards and two scrimmage touchdowns to 28 catches for 305 yards and two touchdowns. Gray played at least 47 percent of snaps in all but four games last season, but Travis Kelce got the vast majority of targets at tight end. The 2023 season opener was the only game in which Patrick Mahomes played but Kelce didn’t, and while Gray set a career high with five targets in that game, his three catches for 31 yards were nothing to write home about. Gray’s best path to fantasy relevance would be a Kelce injury, but even in that scenario, it’s unclear whether Gray has the pass catching skills to be more than a supporting piece in a Kansas City offense that beefed up its receiving corps in the offseason and added tight end Jared Wiley in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Crosses goal line against Browns
Gray logged two receptions on five targets for 21 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 21-7 win against Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Gray didn't cross the 60-percent snap threshold in Week 15 like he did in the two previous contests, and he was unable to match the four grabs he totaled in each of the previous four games, but he made one of his two catches count by turning in his fifth touchdown of the 2024 campaign. Gray still amassed five targets in the contest -- his average over the last five games -- but Patrick Mahomes' ankle sprain could be worrisome for Kansas City's pass catchers. If Mahomes is unable to go against the Texans, Carson Wentz would get the start, presumably capping the upside of Gray and others. On a positive note, the tight end has clearly etched out a regular role and should continue to log 50-plus percent of the offensive snaps.

2022
2021
The Chiefs selected Gray in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft, hoping to develop him into Travis Kelce's heir at the tight end position. After a quiet first season with only seven grabs for 36 yards and a score, Gray upped his production in his second pro campaign, reeling in 28 passes for 299 yards and a single score. The 24-year-old enters the coming season in a similar situation, still working in a complementary role behind Kelce. In that context, Gray is unlikely to garner much fantasy interest outside of some dynasty formats, but he could move on to the radar should Kelce miss time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Reliable target for Mahomes
Gray has emerged as a reliable target for Patrick Mahomes in the Chiefs' passing attack, and the fourth-year tight end could see a larger role in the offense during the second half of the regular season, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gray is coming off the first multi-touchdown game of his career, finishing with four catches on five targets for 23 yards and two scores against the Bills in Week 11. Gray has just 23 catches through 10 regular-season games, but that's on 26 targets for a catch percentage of 88.5 percent. Not only is that the highest rate on the Chiefs ahead of Travis Kelce and DeAndre Hopkins, but Gray's catch percentage leads the NFL among non-running backs. Teicher relays that Gray does a little bit of everything to help unlock Kansas City's offense, and the 25-year-old tight end could be called upon more in the passing game down the stretch.
