Ready for Sunday
CBWashington Commanders
November 22, 2024
Igbinoghene (thumb) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Igbinoghene practiced in full Friday after beginning the Commanders' week of practice with back-to-back limited sessions, suggesting that he's moved past his thumb injury in time for Sunday's divisional matchup. Now that the 2020 first-round pick has returned to full health, he's expected to serve as one of Washington's top rotational cornerbacks in Week 12.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2020
A 2020 first-round pick, Igbinoghene failed to play his way into the starting lineup as a rookie. In the final nine games of the season Igbinoghene only played more than five defensive snaps on two occasions. If he underwhelms again, the former Auburn standout could find himself outside of Miami's long-term plans.
As the Dolphins' third first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, Igbinoghene joins a cornerback room that already looked the part of Miami's best defensive position. Byron Jones and Xavien Howard are the second and third highest-paid cornerbacks in the league, respectively, and locked in as Miami's starters, indicating that the team could envision Igbinoghene beginning his pro career as a depth/developmental option. Alternatively, coach Brian Flores could see hybrid upside for the Auburn product, who boasts the athletic trades desirable of a safety and ultimately only has two years at cornerback under his belt. Neither Bobby McCain nor Eric Rowe boast long histories as every-down starters, so if Igbinoghene were able to garner snaps at safety it could be his quickest path to playing time.

Igbinoghene might be released this offseason, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
The Dolphins have made some high-profile additions at cornerback this offseason, trading for Jalen Ramsey and drafting Cam Smith in the second round, while Igbinoghene doesn't appear to be in the team's future plans after he had the fifth-year option on his rookie contract declined. The 2020 first-round pick has played only 16 games over the last two seasons due to injuries, and he has only five passes defended and one interception so far in his NFL career.
