Sacks Cousins in Week 10
DENew Orleans Saints
November 12, 2024
Turner finished Sunday's 20-17 win over the Falcons with four tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass defense and one forced fumble.
ANALYSIS
Turner logged his second sack of the regular season Sunday when he got to Kirk Cousins late in the second quarter for a five-yard loss, stripping the ball in the process, which was recovered by Drake London. Turner played a season-high 29 snaps on defense, but he's still firmly entrenched as the Saints' No. 4 defensive end behind Cameron Jordan, Carl Granderson and Chase Young. Through nine regular-season games, Turner has logged 13 tackles (eight solo), including 2.0 sacks, three pass defenses and two forced fumbles.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
Selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Turner appeared in just five games in his rookie season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 9. In his limited action, he recorded 12 tackles and one sack. Turner projects to play in a rotational defensive end role for New Orleans in 2022.
One of the more surprising players to hear his name called during the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Turner comes to New Orleans as a toolsy prospect with an 84-inch wingspan - the longest recorded for an edge player at the Senior Bowl since 1999 - and a 7.01-second time in the three-cone drill. With the reach and quickness to contend with anyone, the 22-year-old now will attempt to make it all work in the NFL. How soon Turner's athleticism translates remains to be seen, but as the Saints have learned with 2018 first-rounder Marcus Davenport, a return on investment may take some time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
In fight for roster spot
DENew Orleans Saints
July 18, 2023
Turner will have to earn his spot on the Saints' roster during training camp, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
On the surface, this seems like no surprise as Turner has only three sacks across 13 games in his first two NFL seasons. It's still a big fall from grace for the University of Houston product given that the Saints used a first-round pick on him in 2021. Underhill noted that it would be an upset for Turner to not make the team, but the Saints will not hesitate to cut him if there are players performing better than him.
