2024 Fantasy Outlook
After being selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, Palmer was the No. 3 receiver for the Buccaneers. Palmer took on that role after Russell Gage suffered a season-ending injury in the preseason. Palmer didn’t have more than four catches in any game. In addition, the receiver only surpassed 22 yards once in his first 14 games. Palmer did show potential by averaging 44.8 yards over his last five games, which included two playoff games. It should be noted that Palmer often played in the slot, but new offensive coordinator Liam Coen said he expects Chris Godwin to see an increased slot role. Also, the Bucs added Jalen McMillan in the draft. It would seem that McMillan would have the edge for an outside role over Palmer when the team goes to three-receiver sets, If that happens, Palmer’s production and playing time could suffer. RANKS
One reception in Week 1 win
Palmer brought in one of two targets for 19 yards in the Buccaneers' 37-20 win over the Commanders on Sunday. He also returned one punt for 15 yards.
ANALYSIS
Palmer, who cleared concussion protocol before the game, logged a modest 20 snaps from scrimmage and 10 additional on special teams. His one reception proved productive, but he notably was in on 30 fewer offensive plays than new No. 3 wideout Jalen McMillan. Palmer figures to continue in a modest role during a Week 4 road battle against the Lions on Sunday.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Palmer may only be a rookie sixth-round pick, but his 4.33 40-yard dash is the stuff of a higher-pedigreed player. He finished his college career at Nebraska last year after transferring from LSU and made the most of the move, totaling 71 catches, 1,043 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Palmer's speed is naturally unrivaled on the team, but how well it translates against pro defenses remains to be seen. For the moment, he seems almost certain to open the season as the No. 4 wideout, at best, behind the experienced trio of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Russell Gage.

Gets competition for No. 3 job
Palmer is facing competition for the No. 3 receiver job from Sterling Shepard, who signed with the Buccaneers on a one-year contract Thursday per Jenna Laine of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Palmer exceeded expectations as a rookie a year ago, taking a hold of the No. 3 job as the 2023 season unfolded while forging a 39-385-3 line across 17 games and logging 676 snaps from scrimmage. Palmer added a 56-yard touchdown grab against the Eagles in the Buccaneers' wild-card win and also recorded a pair of receptions in the divisional-round loss to the Lions, but Shepard arrives as a proven commodity that has college experience with Baker Mayfield, albeit one whose last fully healthy season came back in 2018.
