2024 Fantasy Outlook
McKinney has had an up and down career, as he missed a total of 18 games during the four years of his rookie contract with the Giants. He picked the right year to get healthy and posted the most productive season of his career in 2023, which he parlayed into a four-year, $68 million contract with the Packers this offseason. Based on both the value of that contract and his experience relative to the rest of the secondary, McKinney will instantly be asked to emerge as a leader of the unit alongside Jaire Alexander. In each of his two fully healthy seasons in the NFL, McKinney has posted over 90 tackles, 10 passes defensed and three interceptions. If he can replicate those marks in his first year with Green Bay, he'll establish himself as one of the best defensive backs in IDP formats. Read Past Outlooks
Makes good first impression
McKinney tallied four tackles (three solo) and an interception in Friday's 34-29 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
McKinney signed a lucrative contract with the Packers over the offseason, and he made an immediate impact, picking off Jalen Hurts on Philadelphia's opening drive. McKinney did not do much in the tackle department, but he recorded 116 stops during the 2023 regular season, so that will not necessarily be the norm.

McKinney's 2022 campaign was marred by a hand injury suffered during the Giants' bye week. The safety missed seven contests but was able to return at the end of the season and played on every defensive snap during New York's two-game playoff run. McKinney tallied 16 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble over those two games, showcasing his considerable talent. The Alabama product is in the final year of his rookie deal and may have something to prove after last year's injury. McKinney emerged as a rising star in 2021 and will look to recapture that magic during the coming campaign.
