Plays with youth team

Targett played 45 minutes with the Newcastle U21 team, according to manager Eddie Howe.
ANALYSIS
Targett was unused on the bench during the Premier League opener, but played 45 minutes with the youth team. The defender likely won't play much, if at all, with the senior team, but he's a worthwhile depth option, especially with Kieran Trippier linked to a move away from the club.

Newcastle want to sign Targett on a permanent basis, according to The Newcastle Chronicle.
ANALYSIS
Targett was one of the best players for Newcastle in the second half of the season, and the Tyneside club is keen to keep the Aston Villa loanee around on a permanent basis. The move could very well happen given the lack of minutes Targett had with the Midlands club.
