Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Wagner is entering his 13th season in the NFL but has shown few signs of slowing down, posting at least 140 tackles in each of his last three seasons. After joining the revamped Commanders' defensive unit this offseason, there's little doubt that Wagner remains a centerpiece of any team he's a part of. If there is a concern to point towards, it has been Wagner's slip in his work in coverage. He's allowed 11.5 and 10.4 yards per catch as a cover linebacker the last two seasons after beginning his career by allowing under 10.0 yards per reception in six of 10 campaigns. At a relatively advanced age, it's difficult to see Wagner bouncing back against quicker running backs and tight ends. That opens some risk he's taken off the field a bit more, hurting his overall numbers. Nevertheless, Wagner has a locked-in floor that should keep him among the better tacklers at the position. After spending the first decade of his career in Seattle, Wagner departed for the defending Super Bowl champs last year as they futilely tried to repeat. The Rams let him go this offseason as they retooled, and Wagner re-upped with the Seahawks on a one-year deal. The 32-year-old has recorded at least 130 tackles in seven consecutive seasons, and in 2022 the old dog learned some new pass-rush tricks, racking up a career-high six sacks. With Jordyn Brooks on the mend from an ACL tear, Wagner should have opportunities for all the tackles he can handle.

ANALYSIS
After spending 2022 with the Rams, Wagner returned to Seattle last season and racked up a career-high 183 tackles over 17 games. The Pro-Bowl linebacker signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Seahawks last March, but even at 33 years old he could land a bigger payday this time around.
