Reels in six grabs
Covey reeled in all six of his targets for 23 yards in Monday's 22-21 loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
With A.J. Brown (hamstring) sidelined Monday, Covey saw an increase in his playing time and target share Week 2. The third-year wideout's six targets and six catches were second to only DeVonta Smith among Philadelphia's pass catchers. Operating as the Eagles' fourth wide receiver on a team flush with playmakers, Covey will more often than not see limited opportunities in Philadelphia's offense once Brown returns from his injury. However, with Brown likely to miss the Eagles' Week 3 game against the Saints, the 27-year-old could benefit from another expanded role on offense alongside Smith and Jahan Dotson.

Week 2 was memorably brutal for injuries, but it wasn't all bad news for fantasy thanks to some young WRs getting elite usage and taking advantage. Jerry Donabedian has the scoop on everything Week 2.
With A.J. Brown (hamstring) unavailable, DeVonta Smith becomes extremely difficult to fade against Atlanta on Monday.
Jerry Donabedian surveys roles and usage in his Week 1 deep dive, with standouts including Lions WR Jameson Williams, Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker and Packers TE Tucker Kraft.
Jerry Donabedian gives the full breakdown on the second set of preseason games, with highlights including an impressive showing by WR Xavier Worthy with the Chiefs' first-string offense.
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Covey appeared in every game for the Eagles last season but almost exclusively played on special teams, seeing the field for just 19 total offensive snaps. He was the team's primary punt return man and finished second in kick returns but did not break 30 yards with any of his combined 43 returns. The second-year player is buried down the wideout depth chart this season and is unlikely to be a factor in the passing game.
