The Texans lost personnel up front this offseason, including linebacker and signal-caller Blake Cashman. That means the defense needs players to take on important roles in 2024. Harris, who began 2023 as a part-timer but finished as a full-timer, is expected to take on a larger role. He recorded 101 tackles, second only to Cashman's 106, and should return as an outside linebacker. ANALYSIS
Harris entered training camp on the heels of an impressive sophomore campaign, during which he accrued 101 tackles (65 solo), including 2.0 sacks, seven passes defended and one forced fumble across 16 regular-season games. He injured his calf early in training camp, which was severe enough to keep him out of all four of the Texans' preseason games. Harris will now be forced to sit out for the first four regular-season games, and the earliest he can return is Week 5 against the Bills on Oct. 6. Jake Hansen will operate as the Texans' top inside linebacker while Harris is sidelined.
