2024 Fantasy Outlook
As a third-round pick by the Titans in 2020, it was hoped that Evans would earn more and more of the running back load for the team as he became more acclimated to the league, but he only lasted two seasons with Tennessee. Unfortunately, the Appalachian State product hasn't been able to gain much traction as a pro, and the Bills will be his fourth team in five seasons. The 5-10, 203-pounder hasn't had more than 30 rushing attempts or 12 targets at any of his stops in the NFL, and at this stage he's competing for a depth role in Buffalo behind top back James Cook. Evans (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve by the Bills on Tuesday with a designation to return.
ANALYSIS
Evans hurt his hamstring in the Bills' final preseason game Saturday and must now miss at least the first four weeks of the season. With Frank Gore Jr. getting cut Tuesday, the Bills enter Week 1 with a three-man running back crew of James Cook, Ray Davis and Ty Johnson.

2020
The Titans spent a third-round pick on Evans in the 2020 NFL Draft with the expectation that he would serve as the team's change-of-pace back behind Derrick Henry. Evans made a strong early impression with explosive performances in training camp. However, fumbling issues and a couple different injuries ultimately limited to him only 14 carries and two receptions in his rookie campaign. He found a steadier role on special teams, however, as he racked up 206 yards as a kick returner. Unfortunately, a knee issue landed Evans on IR and he'll miss at least three games out of the gate this season.
With Derrick Henry entrenched atop the depth chart, the Titans didn't exactly have a pressing need at running back, but they still saw enough in Evans to nab him late in the third round of this year's draft. An explosive, elusive runner, Evans can change direction on a dime and is a home-run threat once he gets some green around him. His smaller frame and lack of power could make him ineffective between the tackles, but that's Henry's domain anyway, so it shouldn't be a big issue in Tennessee. Evans also gives good effort in pass protection and is useful enough as an outlet receiver, so he should be able to take on the passing-down role previously filled by Dion Lewis. Should anything happen to Henry, however, Evans has the skills to make a big impact as a three-down option, even if he might need someone else to take on short-yardage work.

Evans is working partially as a wide receiver during OTAs, Buck Reising of AtoZSports Nashville reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars' Travis Etienne got buzz for working as a receiver earlier this offseason, and it looks like the Titans intend to subject second-year back Evans to a similar regimen. Coach Mike Vrabel called Evans "a versatile player" who can handle being employed at more than one position, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. Derrick Henry is Tennessee's clear top tailback, but he's been under 20 catches in all five years of his career, so there's room for a change-of-pace option to emerge in this backfield. The offseason departures of Corey Davis and Jonnu Smith also opens up a significant amount of available targets, which Evans could end up benefiting from as a sophomore.
