Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Bell took a step back last year even after the midseason trade of Donovan Peoples-Jones. The immediate beneficiary of the deal was 2023 third-round pick Cedric Tillman. Bell finished with 14 catches for 167 yards and three touchdowns, although two of those scores came in the final week of the regular season when the Browns rested players ahead of the playoffs. After the team acquired Jerry Jeudy during the offseason and extended him, training camp shapes up as a make-or-break period for Bell, who will compete for the No. 5 receiver job. It's a competition that will include 2024 fifth-round pick Jamari Thrash and Michael Woods, among others. Read Past Outlooks
Won't return in 2024
Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Monday that Bell's hip surgery is season-ending, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Bell was carted off the field with a right hip injury in the third quarter of Cleveland's Week 2 win, and it now appears the 23-year-old wideout will be forced to miss the remainder of the 2024 season. With Bell undergoing season-ending surgery, expect Cedric Tillman and James Proche to see more work as depth pieces in the Browns' wide receiver room.

How does the Jaguars pass defense compare to other NFL teams this season?
The bars represents the team's percentile rank (based on QB Rating Against). The longer the bar, the better their pass defense is. The team and position group ratings only include players that are currently on the roster and not on injured reserve. The list of players in the table only includes defenders with at least 3 attempts against them.

2022
Bell was a steady presence in the Browns' offense but did not have a large role in 2022. As a rookie out of Purdue, Bell was the team's primary slot receiver and finished with a modest 35 targets (24 catches). No doubt, the Deshaun Watson saga had a huge impact on the passing game, but the Browns clearly thought last year's receivers were not enough. Cleveland hit the market hard, bringing in Elijah Moore (like Bell, a slot receiver) and Marquise Goodwin. That was before they jumped on Cedric Tillman in the third round of the draft. Bell's fit, along with that of Michael Woods, Jakeem Grant and Anthony Schwartz, is uncertain.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could benefit from Grant's injury
Bell, who is currently on the active/PUP list with a foot injury, could eventually benefit from Jakeem Grant's season-long absence due to a torn Achilles' tendon.
ANALYSIS
The rookie third-round pick will have some ground to make up first, considering he just recently began participating in drills at training camp. Bell finished his final collegiate season at Purdue with 93 receptions, 1,286 yards and six touchdowns across 11 games, and with Grant making a strong case for the No. 3 receiver role before going down with his injury Tuesday, Bell could make a play for a top-three role once he has a full grasp of the offense.
