Rest-of-Season Projections
Officially goes on IR
The Rams placed Kendrick (knee) on their injured reserve list Friday.
ANALYSIS
Kendrick tore his ACL on Thursday, so the procedural transaction doesn't come as a surprise. The 2022 sixth-rounder had a promising second season as a pro last year and was in line for a significant role in the upcoming campaign, but now he doesn't figure to return to the field until 2025.

The rookie sixth-rounder emerged from Week 3 of last season with a concussion, but it was Troy Hill and Cobie Durant who handled most of the cornerback snaps by season's end. Opposing quarterbacks had a 106.4 passer rating when targeting Kendrick, which may have had a role in being demoted to almost no role in the Rams defense in the last five games of the campaign. With Jalen Ramsey and Hill both off the roster, though, Kendrick will have another opportunity to prove himself worthy of playing time in 2023.

ANALYSIS
The 2022 sixth-round pick was a 12-game starter in the regular season for the Rams a year ago, recording an interception and 10 pass breakups overall. Head coach Sean McVay confirmed the ACL tear to reporters Thursday, noting that he'd been very proud of how Kendrick had been working throughout the offseason. That had been echoed during OTAs by defensive coordinator Chris Shula, who'd singled out Kendrick as "doing a great job."
