2024 Fantasy Outlook
Crowder made his way back to his original NFL home last year, linking up with the Commanders after three seasons with the Jets and one year in Buffalo. He mostly got work on punt returns, taking 35 for 278 yards, though there was also a 7-95-1 receiving outburst Week 8 against Philadelphia when No. 3 receiver Curtis Samuel was injured. Crowder otherwise had only 64 receiving yards all season, and he now enters his age-31 campaign looking at special teams as the most likely path to a roster spot in Washington. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Not suiting up Sunday
Crowder (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
After logging just three offensive snaps and one special-teams snap Week 1 against Tampa Bay, Crowder is a healthy scratch for Week 2. That emphasizes the veteran wideout's low position on the Commanders' receiver pecking order, and it also suggests the team is comfortable having another player handle punt returns. Crowder played in all 17 contests for Washington last season, with much of his work coming in the return game.

Crowder was never able to get things going in Buffalo last year, tallying just six catches (on 13 targets) for 60 yards across three-plus contests before suffering a season-ending ankle injury Week 4. The veteran wideout signed with the Giants in the offseason, but he's not a lock to make the team's 53-man roster. What New York's receiver room lacks in big names, it makes up for in depth, particularly in the slot, making Crowder's skill set somewhat redundant. It could help Crowder's case that he has experience as a kick returner, and that both Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson are coming off ACL tears that make their statuses for Week 1 uncertain.

Gets look from Commanders
Crowder worked out with the Commanders on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Crowder spent training camp and the preseason with the Giants but was ultimately among the team's cuts. It's unclear what he may be offer to a team, as he's battled ankle, calf and groin injuries across the last three seasons. The Commanders are dealing with injuries of their own as Terry McLaurin is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to a toe issue, so Crowder could join the team to provide needed depth among the team's pass-catching corps.
