2024 Fantasy Outlook
Travis isn't expected to see the field in 2024 after the Jets drafted him as a developmental quarterback in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He led Florida State to an undefeated season in 2023 with a 20:2 TD:INT ratio and seven rushing touchdowns but fractured and dislocated his ankle in November. Travis is expected to be cleared to resume playing before the start of the 2024 season, but veterans Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor are both firmly ahead of him on the Jets' quarterback depth chart. Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Wednesday that Travis has dealt with "some setbacks" in his recovery from the severe lower left leg injury he sustained at Florida State last November and won't be activated from the reserve/non-football injured list this season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After selecting Travis in the fifth round of April's draft, the Jets were always viewing the 2024 season as a redshirt year for the 24-year-old signal-caller. That said, the Jets had been hopeful that Travis would be back to full health at some point this season, but that apparently won't happen after the young quarterback experienced some setbacks in his recovery from surgery. It's unclear if Travis will be fully cleared by the time OTAs start up during the spring.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could miss entire rookie season
QBNew York Jets
August 25, 2024
Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic believes Travis will open the regular season on the non-football injury list and thinks there's a strong possibility of the rookie quarterback sitting out the entire season.
ANALYSIS
The Jets don't have to dedicate a spot on the 53-man roster to Travis by keeping him on the NFI list, which would ensure he misses at least the first four games of the season. Considering the 2024 fifth-round draft pick didn't play a preseason snap while recovering from an ankle injury suffered while playing for Florida State last November, it would make sense for him to spend his entire rookie season watching from the sidelines. Even if Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor got hurt, the Jets would likely bring in an outside option with more NFL experience rather than turn to Travis.
