2024 Fantasy Outlook
Watson played at least 30 snaps in many games last year. In Weeks 11-16, the Chiefs actually had Watson on the field for over 40 snaps per contest. Despite the strong snap share, Watson is best known for his blocking ability. Otherwise, Watson does see occasional downfield shots from Patrick Mahomes. After posting between 45-62 yards in the first three games of 2023, Watson had just three other games with 40+ yards. The 62-yard game was the receiver’s best effort of the season. Between having a low scoring floor with little upside, Watson is little more than a depth piece in fantasy. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Hauls in lone target Week 1
Watson secured his only target for 25 yards during Thursday's 27-20 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Watson played 52 percent of offensive snaps versus Baltimore in Week 1, working as the Chiefs' clear No. 3 receiver behind Rashee Rice (78 percent) and Xavier Worthy (63 percent). That involvement will dip once starter Marquise Brown (shoulder) returns from injury, but if he remains sidelined Week 2 versus Cincinnati, Watson will have another opportunity to capitalize on an increased snap share.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2019
2018
Watson logged more offensive snaps during the 2022 campaign than most expected, tallying 494 for an average of 29.1 per week. Despite the career-high workload, the wideout turned in just 15 catches for 315 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 34 targets in 17 outings. The 6-2, 215-pounder was primarily a downfield option in the Chiefs' passing attack, drawing 25 of his targets (78.2 percent) 10-plus yards from scrimmage. Watson logged a 5.5 percent target share last season, and even with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman out of the picture, he's unlikely to see enough volume to attain fantasy relevance in 2023.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Elevated Super Bowl role on tap?
Watson could be in line for an elevated role in Super Bowl LVII against the Eagles with three Chiefs receivers not yet practicing with injuries suffered during the AFC Championship Game win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Watson tied a career high with 15 receptions and recorded a career-best 315 receiving yards across 17 games during the regular season, and the experience he garnered from the career-high 474 snaps he logged from scrimmage could certainly pay some dividends on the biggest stage of all. Complementary receivers Kadarius Toney, who suffered ankle and hamstring injuries against Cincinnati, and Mecole Hardman, who aggravated a previous pelvic injury, both appear to be in danger of missing the game, a development that would likely push Watson into the No. 3 receiver role, at minimum.
