2024 Fantasy Outlook
Ricard is a unique chess piece in the Ravens offense. Though offensive coordinator Greg Roman's departure did cut into Ricard's role last season, Todd Monken still found 429 snaps for the 6-3, 305-pound defensive lineman turned fullback. That was nearly as many as Odell Beckham played. Ricard's passing game usage did crater, though, as he went from roughly one target per game from 2020-22 to just seven total targets in 2023. Look for Ricard to see the field plenty in 2024 as he clears paths for Derrick Henry. Read Past Outlooks

Cashes in short-area target for TD
FBBaltimore Ravens
November 6, 2024
Richard played 36 of the Ravens' 51 snaps on offense and hauled in his lone target for a three-yard touchdown reception in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
With a season-high 63 percent snap share, Ricard surprisingly paced all Ravens skill-position players not named Lamar Jackson in playing time in Week 9. The fullback had played just 11 snaps a week earlier in a loss to Cleveland in which Jackson attempted 38 passes, but with Baltimore in control throughout the Week 10 contest and leaning heavily on the run, Ricard saw his snaps pick up considerably. He was able to capitalize on the extra playing time by finding paydirt on a short target near the goal line late in the third quarter for his first touchdown of the campaign and just his second in the last three seasons.

Ricard has been one of the last remaining fullbacks with a significant role over the past few seasons. He routinely played a healthy amount of snaps from 2019 through 2022, topping out at 57 percent of the offensive snaps (681 total) last season. Ricard was a great fit in the Greg Roman offense that emphasized big personnel and the run game. Now that Roman is gone and Todd Monken is taking over as offensive coordinator, Ricard is at risk of seeing a serious role reduction. Ricard could still be used in short-yardage situations, but it's unlikely that he'll come close to his recent snap count totals. His involvement in the passing game, though minimal, could also be phased out of the offense.
Ricard is a unique player in today's NFL as he serves double duty as both a fullback and reserve defensive lineman. He plays a healthy amount of snaps in Greg Roman's complex and run-heavy system, mostly serving as a blocker. He draws occasional targets, having posted a new career-high (12) in 2020 and converting that into nine catches for 45 yards and a touchdown. Look for him to have a similar role this year, with most of his snaps coming on the offensive side of the ball.
Two-way players are close to extinct in today's NFL, but Ricard has found footing as a combo fullback and defensive end in Baltimore. He played roughly one-third of the team's offensive snaps and just over 10 percent of its defensive snaps in 2019. Ricard's main function on offense is as a blocker in Baltimore's power run game and he has very little involvement in the passing attack. He drew 11 targets in 2019, reeling in eight receptions for 47 yards and a score. Ricard figures to reprise his hybrid role in 2020, with the potential for seeing a slight reduction in snaps on defense after the Ravens added Calais Campbell and Derek Wolfe in the offseason.
Fullbacks are becoming less and less prevalent on NFL rosters, but the Ravens are one squad that still finds use for them. Ricard doesn't have the natural pass catching ability of a Kyle Juszczyk, but he's decent in that regard and he's versatile enough to also add depth along the defensive line. If he does make the team, he'll be an occasional asset in short yardage and goal line packages.
