2024 Fantasy Outlook
Barkley's career has generally been a difficult one due to injuries and the struggles of the Giants offenses, but his rare talent usually shines through and provides fantasy investors with solid production despite the grueling nature of his workloads. The hope now is that by going from the Giants to the Eagles there might be a chance for Barkley to finally find some open field as a ballcarrier, not to mention more scoring opportunities. The Eagles offense made Miles Sanders one of the league's most productive runners just two years ago, so putting Barkley in the same scheme could result in one of the league's best outputs at running back. The retirement of center Jason Kelce is a bummer, but it's something the Eagles should be able to manage, as the offensive line left behind is still much better than what Barkley ever had with the Giants. D'Andre Swift claimed 229 carries and 49 targets in 16 games last year, so those numbers probably represent Barkley's floor for usage if he stays relatively healthy in his age-27 season. RANKS
Shines with three TDs in debut
Barkley rushed 24 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns while corralling both of his targets for 23 yards and a third score in Friday's 34-29 win over Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Barkley was worth every cent of his Week 1 salary after scoring a trio of touchdowns in his first game with Philadelphia after signing a three-year, $37.8 million contract this past offseason. The former Giants superstar dominated the backfield touches, ceding just one carry to backup Kenneth Gainwell. Barkley became the first player to hit pay dirt three times in a debut with the Eagles since legendary wide receiver Terrell Owens accomplished the feat in 2004.

2018
After three years of injury troubles, including an ACL tear, Barkley rebounded in 2022 with his best and healthiest season since his 2018 debut campaign. New coach Brian Daboll did a good job rebuilding the Giants offense, which set the stage for Barkley to reestablish himself as one of the top fantasy running backs. He looked mostly back to the form he showed his rookie year, which featured his previous career high in rushing yards (1,307). The one thing missing last year was a return to his rookie-season receiving production; 76 targets were fifth most among RBs but still 45 fewer than in 2018. Daboll tried to avoid putting too much pressure on Daniel Jones, but if the Giants put more on Jones' shoulders this year it won't necessarily be bad for Barkley's fantasy value. He's locked in for a huge share of the rushing workload already, with fifth-round pick Eric Gray the only new addition to a backfield that was lightly used last season with Barkley averaging a career-high 18.4 carries per game. The question now is whether or not Barkley signs his franchise tag in time for Week 1, after he and the Giants couldn't agree on a long-term contract before the mid-July deadline.

Validates big contract in opener
Barkley tied a career high with three total touchdowns in his first regular-season game with the Eagles against the Packers on Friday night, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Barkley wasted no time validating the Eagles' decision to sign him to a lucrative free-agent contract this offseason, finishing the wild 34-29 win with 24 carries for 109 yards while recording an 18-yard touchdown reception and scoring runs of 11 and two yards. The three trips to the end zone also tie for the most by any player in his team debut during the Super Bowl era, making it a very conspicuous night overall for the veteran back.
