2024 Fantasy Outlook
A 4.33 40-yard time and a strong overall performance at the Combine launched Guerendo up draft boards, and the 49ers traded up in the fourth round to make sure they got the 221-pound speedster. Kyle Shanahan's offense is arguably the best in the league for a running back, especially one with game-breaking speed, though Guerendo figures to begin his career behind three-down workhorse Christian McCaffrey and the brittle Elijah Mitchell. Guerendo was never a lead back during his time at Wisconsin and Louisville, but he averaged 6.1 yards on 132 carries for the Cardinals last season and now becomes one of the fastest running backs in the NFL. Has MCL, ankle sprains
Guerendo has been diagnosed with MCL and ankle sprains in his left leg following an MRI on Monday, but he didn't damage the ACL in his left knee during Sunday's loss at Arizona, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 49ers' 2024 campaign is over, but the team's season finale included yet another RB injury. On only his second carry of Sunday's game, Guerendo had his left leg twisted under him as he was tackled, and he needed a cart to go to the locker room. He thus is one of four San Francisco running backs to enter the offseason focusing on rehab. The others are Christian McCaffrey (knee), Jordan Mason (ankle) and Elijah Mitchell (hamstring). Guerendo, a 2024 fourth-round pick, proved to be effective when given the chance as a rookie, turning 84 carries into 420 yards (5.0 YPC) and four touchdowns and hauling in 15 of 16 targets for 152 yards in 16 appearances.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected to miss Week 16
Guerendo is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Dolphins due to a hamstring injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Guerendo played through a foot injury on Thursday Night Football in Week 15, but he missed practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury that's reportedly severe enough to sideline him come Sunday. If Guerendo joins San Francisco's lengthy list of running backs unavailable due to injury, Patrick Taylor would likely be the next man up, with Israel Abanikanda also on the roster and Ke'Shawn Vaughn available to be elevated from the practice squad.
