2024 Fantasy Outlook
Viewed as one of the safest options on draft boards at this time last year, Diggs had become one of the more polarizing players for 2024 even before the Bills traded him to Houston in early April. He's now looking at top-notch target competition from Texans WRs Nico Collins and Tank Dell, after a mega-slump in the second half of 2023 left Diggs with his worst season-long stat line in four years with the Bills. His nosedive was unexpected, given that the first nine weeks of 2023 were perhaps the most productive stretch of his career (7.8 catches for 92.7 yards and 0.78 TDs on 10.8 targets). The rest of the Bills offense disappointed, however, so the team fired OC Ken Dorsey after Week 10 and replaced him with Joe Brady. Including the playoffs, Diggs had one TD in nine games under Brady and just two performances of more than 52 yards. His 27.3 percent target share in that stretch was ninth in the league and right in line with his 2020-22 usage, but the efficiency nosedived (5.2 YPT) and Buffalo ran the ball more often. That last part shouldn't be an issue in Houston with QB C.J. Stroud now surrounded by arguably the best group of pass catchers in the league. Even so, Diggs is looking at a major plunge in team share stats and is unlikely to match his 10-target-per-game Buffalo usage even if he's taking his slice from a huge passing-game pie. The Texans have TE Dalton Schultz and RB Joe Mixon projecting for a decent number of targets, in addition to Diggs, Dell and Collins competing for the WR looks. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Another modest yardage total
Diggs caught four of six targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Going back to last season with the Bills, Diggs has just 633 receiving yards in his last 13 regular-season games. He papered over a 33-yard Texans debut with two touchdown catches, but Diggs barely raised his yardage total in Week 2 while failing to score. Diggs is clearly behind Nico Collins (252 receiving yards through two games) in the wide receiver pecking order heading into a Week 3 road game in Minnesota, where Diggs began his career from 2015 to 2019.

Each of Diggs' three years in Buffalo has resulted in more receiving yards and more catches than any of his five seasons in Minnesota. Last year, he had a career high for touchdowns and his second-most yards, rebounding from a 2021 in which his volume remained plentiful but his efficiency took a hit. Overall, the three years in Buffalo have yielded averages of 112.7 catches for 1,396.3 yards and 9.7 touchdowns, with the Bills' offense otherwise relying on complementary guys like WR Gabriel Davis and TE Dawson Knox, both of whom demand some respect from defenses without seriously threatening Diggs' volume. The same can probably be said of 2022 fifth-round pick Khalil Shakir, a promising prospect who will jockey with free-agent signings Trent Sherfield and Deonte Harty for playing time as the WR3. Diggs turns 30 in November and could start to slow soon, but there were no signs of it last season and no offseason transactions to threaten his consistent volume in the range of 9-10 targets per game.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Hasn't lost step, per Keenum
Quarterback Case Keenum said Friday that he was excited to practice with Diggs again, noting that the wide receiver is "a dynamic player and he hasn't lost a step. ... He's done a great job of continuing to build his craft and work his tool set," Bobby Kownack of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Keenum and Diggs share a special moment in history together, with the two connecting on the game-winning 61-yard touchdown in the 2017 NFC divisional round against the Saints, better known as the "Minneapolis Miracle." Diggs spent the next two years with the Vikings before being traded to the Bills in 2020, where he recorded four straight 100-catch, 1,000-yard seasons. Diggs was shipped to Houston in April, and the 30-year-old receiver will look to show that he's still an elite receiver as he leads the Texans' pass-catching group of Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz.
