2024 Fantasy Outlook
Benson fell to the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft in part because of durability concerns related to a brutal multi-ligament knee tear at Oregon at the end of the 2020 season. He came back strong at Florida State in 2022 and 2023 to play 26 consecutive games and score 24 touchdowns, though his upright running style invites big hits at times. Beyond those concerns, Benson is close to blue-chip across most considerations. Few runners combine home run speed with standout raw power, but Benson showed both traits at FSU and then confirmed it at the Combine with a 4.39 40 at 6-0, 216. He was immensely explosive as a mid-volume, high-efficiency runner for the Seminoles, averaging 6.1 yards on 316 carries across two seasons, so he could make an impact in Arizona coming out of the bullpen behind James Conner. Conner had one of his best seasons in 2023 and won't be pushed aside easily, but his extensive injury history gives reason to project a start or two for Benson in an improving Arizona offense. RANKS
Racks up 11 carries in Week 2
Benson tallied 11 carries for 10 yards and one catch (on one target) for seven yards during Sunday's 41-10 win against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Through two games in his NFL career, Benson has spelled starting running back James Conner, but the former's snap share increased from 13 percent Week 1 to 33 percent Sunday, while fellow reserve option Emari Demercado went from 21 to 11 percent. Benson's efficiency on the ground (1.6 YPC) hasn't emerged yet, but he at least seems to be the No. 2 RB for the Cardinals heading into Sunday's game against the Lions.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely blocked by Conner in 2024
Benson is expected to cede the majority of rushing attempts to James Conner in 2024, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Fowler believes Conner will work as the focal point of Arizona's backfield in 2024 after averaging 5.0 yards per carry last season. Benson should mix in as a change-of-pace option, but the rookie third-round draft pick out of Florida State may need to wait until 2025 to spread his wings, as Conner's contract expires after the current campaign.
