2024 Fantasy Outlook
Steele wasn't selected in April's NFL Draft but has a good shot of making Kansas City's roster after turning heads in training camp. The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder brings multiple useful skills to the table: he was listed as a fullback on KC's initial depth chart and is certainly capable of serving as a lead blocker in two-back sets, but he is also a powerful runner with the ball in his hands, is solid in pass-protection and can contribute on special teams. If he does in fact make the cut, Steele could add some new wrinkles to an offense that didn't roster a fullback last season while garnering occasional carries behind Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. RANKS
Larger workload could await
Steele carried seven times for 24 yards while playing 14 of Kansas City's 65 snaps on offense in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Steele is averaging just 3.0 yards over his first nine NFL carries, but the undrafted rookie out of UCLA could nonetheless be headed for an expanded role in the offense with Isiah Pacheco (fibula/ankle) expected to land on injured reserve, according to Charles Goldman of AToZSports.com. Along with Steele, Samaje Perine -- who played nine of 65 snaps in Week 2 -- should take on extra work, though Kansas City may prefer to limit Perine to a passing-down role. The team will almost certainly add another running back or two to the 53-man roster before Sunday's game in Atlanta to help replace Pacheco, making it difficult to project what Steele's workload might look like.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could surprise in rookie year
Bucky Brooks of NFL.com identifies Steele as a rookie who had a strong preseason and could surprise in 2024.
ANALYSIS
Steele went undrafted out of UCLA in April and subsequently succeeded in his longshot bid for a spot on the 53-man roster for the defending champions. Although he's listed as a fullback on the Chiefs' depth chart, Steele showed plenty as a runner during the preseason by gaining 87 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Brooks notes the combination of Steele's power and explosiveness and head coach Andy Reid's willingness to utilize multiple backs throughout a season could give Steele opportunities to contribute immediately.
